COACHING GENERATIONS — Milan, 2017 February 6/7

The demographic revolution of the last 15 years all over the world has a huge impact on the workplace. It means five different generations of values, norms, strategic thinking approaches, and priorities. Sometimes, such as in Italy nowadays, it also means that 5 generations are fighting for the same positions on the job market. Research shows that multi-generational factors are internationally recognized as one of the elements that have the greatest impact on the workplace. By 2020 there will be a revolutionary generational change in leadership replacement! By that time, 40/50s, that have disappeared for some time from the work-radar should have entered the C-suite and there will be more millennial leaders than ever before.

At present there is a lot of pressure caused by these huge shifts in the workplace. Perhaps it's time to play a different game, taking advantage of the various strengths and attitudes prevalent in all 5 generations and focusing on common goals to improve our lives and our professional targets.

A 45 year old (X Gen, today 60% workforce in Italy) has different motivations and ambitions to realize at work than a 30 years old (Gen Y) or 60 year old (Mature). Competence is no longer a Leadership value. Knowing better expectations, ambitions and resources for each generation, managing a key talent, designing a corporate welfare program, trigger new HR policies also means applying Age Management tools and methods.
